The Campus Voices campaign is an effort to educate the campus community about the great work that goes on in American colleges and universities every day. We intend to highlight how a dedicated faculty goes about the important business of education, how students engage in that education, and why it's important to protect education from those who want to impose a political agenda on higher education.

How can you help with the this campaign?  Organize a Campus Voices event on your campus!  You can download the Campus Voices Organizing Toolkit by clicking on the "Campus Voices" image below - it includes step by step instructions on how to put together an event, along with contact information to put you in touch with Free Exchange on Campus staff to assist you in your venture.  Please let us know that you're interested in hosting an event!

Why do you teach?

We've challenged our own bloggers and other blogging academics to answer the question, "Why do you teach?" In turn, we've gotten thoughtful answers from a wide range of educators describing to us their motivations for engaging in the sometimes grueling work of higher education. Listed below are the responses that we've received so far, and we'll continue to post more as we find out about them. We hope this provides you with a better understanding of what drives the dedicated professionals who are working to ensure that today's college students receive the highest quality education possible!
